Curriculum

Over a number of years, St John’s has taken important decisions around building a curriculum that is right for our school and unique to our young learners.  The school recognised the need to bring the curriculum to life, instilling awe and wonder in the children and recognised that it is a curriculum that is constantly developing.

The school also wanted it’s motto of:

‘Living, loving together in God’s World’  – ‘Let all that you do be done in love’ :1 Corinthians 14-16

to be reflected in the curriculum provision. The school wanted to place reading at the heart of the curriculum.

The core areas at St John’s are: Religious Education, English, Maths, Science and Computing

The Foundation Subjects are; History, Geography, Art, Design and Technology, Music, Spanish, PSHE and P.E.

Our Christian Values of Love, Hope and Respect create a thread throughout all our teaching and learning.

This documentation provides you with a comprehensive overview of the broad and balanced curriculum at St. John’s.

At St John’s, we are proud to have developed our very own creative, tailored curriculum based on the children’s needs and their interests.  Our aim is to ingnite a zest for learning with care, fun and academic challenge at the heart of the curriculum.
